Chartered Psychologist, Jon Rhodes heads our sport psychology team. Jon is a specialist in sport science/performance and has worked with a variety of elite athletes and high performance consultants at the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), GBR Judo, GBR Kayaking, Premiership Football, Premiership Rugby and more recently, the Guernsey, Great Britain and Brazil Fencing squads. Jon was responsible for the planning and tactical application of several Olympic athletes during the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympic Games and is now working closely with athletes to prepare for the next Games in Tokyo 2020. Jon co-founded the groundbreaking Plymouth Studio School, which places a real focus on performance sport for athletes aged 14+ in education. He delivers the academic psychology programme, as well as providing individual and group sessions to athletes from a variety of sports as part of the Talent and Performance Programme. In addition, Jon is an associate lecturer in Psychology at Plymouth University, and is currently researching Mindset and Grit in sport, education and management, working towards his PhD.
